In this training you learn:
Reading and understanding the avalanche forecast
Knowing the five-level avalanche danger scale
Understanding the different avalanche problems
Assessing terrain
Knowledge of risk reduction and risk management
Reading maps and slope angle maps
Just like a job description, you do not need to meet every requirement. However, this list will help you assess which theoretical foundations you should have in order to answer the questions in the training.

Join Johanna, Gustav and Philipp and help them plan their tour the day before. You will answer questions about the avalanche forecast and the meaning of the danger levels. Use the graphical reduction method to plan and assess the different ascent options.
Once the tour begins, you will learn about the avalanche transceiver check and potential sources of interference. The group crosses an avalanche path, and you must assess the risk. Help them read the map, identify slope angles and recognize warning signs. You will also reflect on group dynamics and how they influence decision-making.
Compare different ascent options and use an individual slope assessment to analyse the final slope leading to the summit. You will also assess alternative descent routes, identify safe regrouping points and discuss the best descent strategy.
